Certified Naturally Grown (more info)

Phoenix Gardens was started in 2005 by Brennan and Gwendolyn Washington in Lawrenceville, Georgia. From the beginning, we set out to grow wholesome food in a sustainable manner. We use no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

We grow a wide range of vegetables, herbs and fruit at our farm. And Gwendolyn keeps her laying hens happy so they produce delicious eggs for us and our customers. In 2015, we lost our home to devastating fire. We made the decision to rebuild our farm as a teaching model for farmers and local gardeners. We brought in a permaculture designer who created a beautiful design for us that we are now implementing. We are in year two of a three year rebuild.

We not only grow good food, we help grow food systems. Brennan, with Gwendolyn’s support, has tirelessly supported many aspects of local food system development including co-founding the Georgia Farmers Market Association, mentoring new and beginning farmers, serving on agricultural grant review panels and speaking about sustainable agriculture at conferences.

Brennan is currently the 1890 Land Grant Liaison and Southeastern Outreach Coordinator for Southern SARE where he promotes sustainable agriculture in 13 states, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
